Wolfgang Max Walter Baraniecki (21 January 1950, Berlin, Germany - 30 June 2004, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) was a documentary filmmaker and film producer. His primary focus was documenting agriculutral, social and political issues in Tanzania, Africa.

Baraniecki quit school in 1970 and worked in various jobs and for various companies including the Borsigwerke based in Berlin, Germany. From 1972 through 1975 he was a student of Directing, Camera and Production at the Deutsche Film und Fernsehakademie Berlin (dffb). His final work was the Film "Der vergessene Krieg".

From 1978 through 1980 Baraniecki worked as a development worker in Zanzibar, Tanzania for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. He continued this work for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (German Technical Cooperation) from 1980 through 1986.

After the maximum timeframe possible as a development worker Baraniecki decided to stay in Dar es Salaam to found Coco Ltd. This allowed him operate fulltime at the production of documentaries with local Tanzanian and African content. Coco Ltd. has produced documentaries for numerous clients including the BBC and Canal+.

Baraniecki died in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania shortly after falling into a coma at TMJ Hospital. He was diagnosed with Meningitis.
